Parrjazz presents Freese trio @The Kaz

FREESE TRIO are a female fronted, Leeds based, trip-hop, dark-jazz band whose distinctive, heavy sound has borne comparisons to Portishead, Massive Attack and Goldfrapp. Their compositions explore inner demons and difficult truths through twisted lyricism and dense layered sounds. The music combines hypnotic drum patterns, bold sub-bass riffs, eerie harmony and daring, yet intricate vocals that take audiences on a journey of self-reflection that begins in darkness, before emerging back out into the light. This creates a mesmerising trance and encourages the release of suppressed emotions.

Freese Trio received a place on Manchester Jazz Festivals Hothouse scheme in 2018, and in 2019 were awarded a place on Jazz Norths Northernline scheme.
They have performed at jazz festivals across the UK, including the Manchester, Lancaster and Marsden Jazz Festivals, and have supported artists including Yazmin Lacey and Szun Waves. September 2019 will see the band release their 2nd album, titled The Beast In The Blueprint, following on from the release of their debut back in 2017.
