PowerHouse presents: NEWAVE 2019!
Newave is back bringing you great upcoming artists in your city! After the great success of our Portsmouth and Leeds shows, we're taking Newave to 2 more cities across the UK - Liverpool and Brighton!
Featuring:
Primyl Vinyl
Alt-rockers hitting the scene hard sporting boisterous riffs and catchy lyrics. A band trying to fuse modern alt-rock and dad’s old blues records. Based in Liverpool with refreshed line up, Primyl Vinyl are making their mark with boulder heavy rock sounds and party balloon pop sensibility.
Their feliticious debut release, A.M has plugged an ever-expanding fan base of loyal support since it’s release in late October. With over 12,000 streams and support from Spotify’s Release Radar/ Discover Weekly playlists, the band have been overwhelmed by their immediate backing. Fresh off the back of sold out shows in Stamford and Huddersfield, plus further radio backing from LS Radio/ CandoFM and Rutland Radio, they are on their way for a big 2019!
Husband Material
With their ‘American Football-esque melodies’ and ‘low-fi indie sound’, Husband Material’s music draws upon a wide range of inspirations, from the likes of The Smiths, The Cure and The Stone Roses to Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Jimmy Eat World and Tigers Jaw. Creating a sound with ‘clear influences’ but ‘a more contemporary vibe’.
2018 proved to be a successful year for the trio, as the played their first gigs outside of Liverpool and released their debut single, Luna, which received positive reviews and radio play. ‘Effortlessly deliberate … simplistic lyrics’ and ‘intricate music’ that sets a ‘chilled atmosphere… keeping listeners on the edge of their seat’.
After the encouraging reception of their first release and future releases currently being worked on, confidence is high in Husband Material, gathering momentum.
The Gear
The Gear are a gritty guitar driven Alt Rock quartet from Liverpool. The band formed in May 2017 and consists of Callum Thompson (lead vocals & guitar), Ben Harper (vocals & guitar), Ben Wall (drums) and Jack Crone (bass).
Heavily influenced by old school ‘Classic Rock’ - ‘The Gear’ put forward a modern form of the vintage sound with elements of psychedelia, blues and garage rock. Ensuring their northern roots are central to their sound, the band come alive onstage with a growing underground following of all rock music admirers.
