Five-piece garage/blues rock band The Heavy North kicked off in November 2018 with a show at Manchesters Night & Day Cafe alongside the release of debut singles Dont You Wait For Me & The Night Dont Give No Love
Recorded and released on 3rd Planet Recordings and mastered by Mike Marsh at The Exchange in Devon (credits include Nick Cave, Oasis, Kasabian, Chemical Brothers, The Libertines), the bands debut tracks were described as a great contribution to Liverpools rock scene by GetIntoThis with The Heavy Norths sound summed up as dirty scuzzed-up dive bar blues.
Following a headline show at Liverpools Jacaranda Phase One in February 2019, the bands track Dont You Wait For Me debuted on BBC Introducing Merseyside (16 Feb) with Dave Monks.
The Heavy North played a number of live dates in March/April 2019 including a return to Manchesters Night & Day Cafe, a late-night This Feeling Afterparty gig (The Black Keys special) and shows in Liverpool, Blackpool and Leeds.
The Heavy Norths third single Some Good Lovin' was released in June 2019 ahead of the bands festival debut at Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF), appearing on the Music City Stage alongside local artists championed by Bido Lito!, GetIntoThis (GIT), BBC Introducing and more.
Some Good Lovin' was recorded and produced by Jose Ibanez (3rd Planet Recordings) and mastered by John Davis at Metropolis Studios, London (credits include Led Zeppelin, Bands of Skulls, Primal Scream). The track was accompanied by the bands first music video filmed by Scott Mealey, and released on 3rd Planet Recordings.
The Heavy North played their biggest hometown show to date at a sold-out Jimmys in September 2019, followed by shows at Warringtons Rivfest, the Smithdown Road Festival All-Dayer and the Arts Club Liverpool supporting Saint Agnes.
12 months after the bands debut gig, The Heavy North announced details of their fourth single As Long As Youre Here With Me released Monday 9th December.
