Event Details

Pablo Contraband - Disco Deviant pay a welcome visit to Yard & District, bringing with them a sparkling line up of international talent.

Rayko has been a leading light on the disco and edits scene since 2008 - he has released on a multitude of labels as well as running his beloved Rare Wiri imprint - Rayko recently celebrated his 50th vinyl release and is personally responsible for some of the most recognisable and respected edits of the past decade.

These include festival anthem 'All Along the Watch Tower', the massive Candi Staton rework 'Broadway' and his recent rework of Fleetwood Mac's Gold Dust Woman has been huge.

Rayko released his second artist album 'No Stopping' in 2018 and continues to tour the globe as a DJ - his sets are up there with the best in the business. A pioneer and master of modern electronic disco.

Pablo Contraband is the man with the plan. A DJ first and foremost rejecting the studio and production route in favour of playing records he loves to people that appreciate it.

Disco Deviant is built firmly on these foundations, reflecting his tastes and providing a platform for him to invite guests and play music he loves, often alongside his heroes. This exciting and creative hive of musical activity has spawned other projects including record labels and The Unity Agency, which has gone on to become a successful international booking agency.

Disco Deviant has been running monthly in Brighton for 10 years attracting a diverse, musically astute crowd. The policy is simple one, the nights focus has always remained pure. It's all about the crowd, the dance floor and the music. Pablo books his favourite artists to play alongside him and the atmosphere at Disco Deviant is electric as a result.

We invite you all to join us for excitement and excess - Disco Deviant style.

RAYKO - (Rare Wiri & Disco Deviant)

Spanish producer extraordinaire Rayko has been a leading light in the disco scene since 2008, the year he launched his magnificent Rare Wiri imprint. Since then his name has appeared on literally dozens of great records scattered across labels like Eskimo, Is It Balearic? Whiskey Disco, Lumberjacks in Hell, and Nang.

Deeply rooted in '70s and '80s disco, funk, boogie and rock, Rayko's influences are masterfully interpreted and transformed into modern day dancefloor bombs.
His mind-blowing edit of Candi Staton's 'Broadway' came in at number 1 in Juno's best of 2011 disco chart, proving he's right at the crest of the disco edit wave.
But his talents don't stop there. He's delved into original productions, with his second studio album coming out late 2017 at Nang, one of the finest Nudisco London based labels, and remixes, being asked to lend his skilled hand to tracks by Psychemagik, Ajello, In flagranti & Dj Rocca, to name a few,...
As a DJ, he's been shipped over to the USA, Africa, Asia, South and North America and all around Europe, and his global following is quite obviously illustrated by his massive following on SoundCloud, with more than 30k followers, and 5 million plays.
