- Marcel Dettmann -

DJ and producer Marcel Dettmann is recognised as one of the most influential artists in techno today, associated with his iconic residency at Berghain in Berlin and global DJ performances.
He returns to mUmU for the 3rd time and first time since 2014.

In 1999, Marcel began to work as a resident DJ at Ostgut, Berghain’s predecessor. Shortly thereafter he moved to Berlin working for Hard Wax. His apprenticeship as a vinyl buyer and seller as well as DJ, granted him an extensive depth of musical knowledge.

Marcel looks tirelessly for new ways and inspiration to further develop his own concept of electronic music.
Today his label MDR (Marcel Dettmann Records) serves as a platform upon which to shape his musical vision, and through its releases, to launch new talent onto the techno scene. As a curator and producer, Dettmann fosters the call to create in a way which is timeless and innovative.

The producer behind Answer Code Request is Patrick Gräser, making his mUmU debut.
Before Answer Code Request came to be in 2010, he spent his youth in the same small hometown near Berlin as Marcel Dettmann and Marcel Fengler, sharing their experiences of hitting the big city as a teenager, in search of the records and clubs that formed the tradition in the 90’s, then taking up DJing and producing shortly after.
If you listen to the music of Answer Code Request, live or DJ, the shape & diversity is striking as is the hallmark of a Berghain resident DJ.
