One of the most exciting young MCs on the planet right now, freestyle sensation A-F-R-O returns to Liverpool this winter for his debut headline show with Canadian beatsmith Marco Polo in tow.
What can we say about A-F-R-O (All Flows Reach Out)?
Not yet even out of his teens and one of the most hotly tipped rappers in the world. His impossibly complex word patterns and dextrous flows have seen him pick up fans at an alarming rate.
After entering R.A The Rugged Man’s ‘Definition of a Rap Flow’ contest in 2014, his submission became a viral sensation almost overnight. R.A. (who would become his mentor) described the entry, saying “this kid won the contest before it even ended!”. It became a platform to showcase A-F-R-O’s “off the top” ability; witty word play, distinctive voice & a hugely complex rhyme schemes.
A-F-R-O quickly captured the attention of notable figures in rap with Questlove going as far as saying that “A-F-R-O is the future of Hip-Hop”. Studio sessions with the genres leading luminaries quickly followed with the young Californian being called in to work with producers such as DJ Premier, Erick Sermon, Pete Rock, Prince Paul, DITC, Mr. Green as well as dropping the critically acclaimed EP A-F-R-O POLO with Marco Polo.
His appearance with RA The Rugged Man at the last ever hip-hop event at the Kazimier was nothing short of legendary so we're massively excited to invite him back to the city for his debut headline show.
